Founded in 1920, Lötscher Ltd., is the only genuine Swiss brand of cuckoo clocks in existence today. All of our cuckoo clocks are handmade, hand carved and hand assembled using aged linden wood. We keep the wood for three years to dry it naturally. This way of drying the wood is the only way to guarantee that the wood doesn’t crack any more in humid or dry air. This is the most costly way to manufacture clocks, but it’s what separates Lotscher clocks from others available from other countries. All our cuckoo clocks are controlled at least for three days before leaving the factory. Lotscher cuckoo clocks with music are equipped with the most refined swiss music movements which plays two melodies, one on half hour and one on the full hour. Mechanical movement is chain-driven in one day or eight day cycles with cuckoo-call and gongstrike every half and full hour. Lotscher operates two facilities which have specific duties in the manufacturing of the finished clocks, Brienz and Zurich.
Olbas originated in Basel, Switzerland over 100 years ago, and continues to be a European favorite. It has the remarkable ability to increase circulation by opening up the skin pores, bringing a warm feeling of relief to muscles and joints. Olbas readily diffuses into the air, providing extraordinary benefits to nasal and bronchial areas. The natural essential oils in Olbas are extracted from these medicinal herbs, the basis of healing in cultures around the world for centuries:
Peppermint (Mentha Piperita) is the world's most consumed single herb. Peppermint vapors clear the nasal passages naturally and breathe new life into tired bodies. This aromatic stimulant also provides welcome relief from symptoms of colds flu, sinusitis and congestion.
Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus Globulus), a powerful antiseptic and stimulant, is recognized internationally as an inhalant to relieve cold and flu symptoms. Because of its soothing antiseptic properties eucalyptus is found in many popular cough and cold remedies.
Cajeput (Melaleuca Leucadendron), used since the 17th century by Europeans as a remedy for rheumatism, provides deep, penetrating action and soothing relief for muscular and rheumatic aches and pains.
Wintergreen (Gaultheria Procumbens), containing methyl salicylate, is widely used as an aid in relieving ache and pains of arthritis and rheumatism. It is readily absorbed by the skin, and is very soothing for joint and muscular pains, lumbago and sciatica.
Juniper Berries (Juniperus Communis) have been traditionally used as a diuretic, stomachic, and carminative. Applied externally, the oil is a local stimulant.
Clove (Caryophyllus Aromaticus), a strong stimulating aromatic, is a useful carminative, a powerful germicide and a local anesthetic.
